These terms govern the use of Julia, the app you use to write your book by talking. Please read them carefully before creating your account and starting to dictate your work.
Julia is an installable web app (PWA) that lets anyone write their own book by talking. The author dictates their ideas out loud, Julia transcribes each recording into text using artificial intelligence, organizes the material and, when the author requests it, writes a manuscript draft formatted for publication on Amazon KDP or other platforms.
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern access to and use of Julia, including both the public website and the author app. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with them, you must not use Julia.
To use the author app you must create an account and meet the following conditions:
You are responsible for all activity carried out from your account. Notify us immediately if you detect unauthorized use. We may suspend or cancel accounts that violate these Terms or that pose a risk to the service or to other users.
You agree to use Julia lawfully and responsibly. In particular, the following is not allowed:
Violating this clause may result in the limitation, suspension, or cancellation of your account, without prejudice to any applicable legal action.
The author retains ownership of the rights to their work at all times. The recordings you dictate, their transcripts, the generated manuscript, the synopsis, the cover, and the exports are your property.
The "Julia" brand, the software, the interface, and the elements of the service are the property of Julia and are protected by intellectual property law; these Terms do not transfer any rights over them to you.
Julia is monetized through a monthly subscription based on storage space, managed through our payment processor Stripe. The current plans are:
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly period, charging the payment method on file, until you cancel. Prices are expressed in US dollars and do not include taxes that may apply in your jurisdiction. We may update prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to subsequent renewal periods.
Each subscription is registered with our payment processor (Stripe) as a direct monthly donation to Global Recovery (theglobalrecovery.org), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; Julia donates 100% of its profits (after operating, infrastructure and AI costs) to that organization. Donations are tax-deductible in the United States to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Unless required otherwise by law, fees already paid are non-refundable for elapsed periods.
Julia uses artificial intelligence to transcribe your recordings and draft your manuscript. These technologies can produce results that are inaccurate, incomplete, or in need of correction.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the service provider's domicile, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply in your country of residence. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be submitted to the competent courts of that domicile, unless the law mandates a different venue.
If any clause of these Terms is found to be void or unenforceable, the rest will remain fully valid. We may modify these Terms for legal or security reasons, or as the service evolves, notifying you of substantial changes; continued use of Julia after they take effect implies acceptance.
If you have questions about these Terms and Conditions, you can write to us through the contact page or to the email address below. We handle legal inquiries as promptly as reasonably possible.
